Neural Training Through Audio-Stimulation?

What? Is this possible?

It’s kind of fringe, sure. But in a nutshell: yes. It’s possible! Now you want to know how this all works, right? Well, the answer is kind of simple and kind of complex. I’ll go simple for now.

Perhaps you’ve heard those people who say that everything in the universe has it’s own unique “vibration”? After being laughed at for decades now, science has actually proven these “crackpots” to be right! Bear with me… Light and sound travel in waves. Well, light is both a particle and a wave but.. yeah, it still has wave properties. Since light and sound travel in waves, our perception of the universe is based on the waveform. Without those waveforms of light and sound, we would essentially be blind and deaf to the world around us. Using that fact as a basis for studies, scientists have determined that not only does our perception of objects rely on visual and auditory waveforms, but the objects each have their own unique vibrational pattern that transforms into additional “background noise” waveforms. The source of these vibrational patterns was as elementary as it can get, yet shocking at the same time: atomic and molecular movement!

EVERYTHING is made of atoms and molecules, from the smallest dust particle to the largest star! But, what does this have with neural training? Just bear with me. I’m getting there.

Not only does everything have its own unique vibrational pattern, but our BRAINS also generate vibrational patterns! The vibrational patterns generated from within our brains are believed to be the product of electrical stimulation, discharge, and currents flowing in our brains and our bodies. Using FMRI scans, we have been able to locate exact spots in our brains that are triggered during different activities and emotional experiences. We have also been able to determine the vibrational frequency that is produced by those places in our brains during that activity or experience.

When I talk about “vibrational frequency”, think about actually hearing a vibration. Have you ever heard a Tibetian Singing Bowl? How about someone making a wine glass “sing” by running their fingertip along the lip of the glass? If you have heard those things, you have heard a vibrational frequency! A vibrational frequency is simply the audio tone that is produced by any given vibration.

But, most of the sounds that would be produced by our brain’s electrical signals are in the infrasound range. It’s pretty much inaudible to human ears, though some other animals are known to respond to infrasound. Elephants can produce and hear infrasound so effectively that we believe they use it to communicate over vast distances! Whales also produce and hear infrasound, which travels more effectively through water, and can use it to communicate across hundreds of miles! Animals are known to flee sites long before they are struck by earthquakes and tsunamis, we believe the animals hear the infrasound waves of the event which are released long before the actual vibrations are felt on the ground or the waves actually reach the shore. This usually allows them time to escape the catastrophe. But, just because we can’t actually hear it as an audible sound doesn’t mean that we don’t hear it! Our brains respond, even if our ears don’t tell us that there is a sound there!

I’m not going to take all day restating science but there’s plenty of people who ALSO recognize an earthquake is coming before it is felt shaking. Their warning usually appears as a queasy feeling and a rather unique type of headache, but it is usually only within seconds to minutes before the earthquake. Animals respond faster because they actually register the sound as being heard by their ears, but humans have much less of a response time because it takes the human body longer to develop enough of an annoyance with the infrasound tone to generate a physical response. Basically, our ears don’t register the sound as heard, but it still creates a reaction within the brain.

This all comes down to the point: neural training. And using tones that we don’t actually hear with our ears! We do have somewhat of a list of the frequencies produced within our brains when we feel certain things or when we do different activities. Sleeping generates a different tone than play. Focusing our thoughts on a certain task generates a different tone than when we do things “on autopilot”. Dreaming sleep (REM) generates tones unique from a deep, dreamless sleep. Active learning and passive learning also have their own, unique tones.

I have been experimenting. I use Adobe Audition on a regular basis anyway, so I already had a good software suite to experiment with. And Adobe Auditon has a utility where you can add tracks with specific hertz frequencies. Perfect! I downloaded some ambient audio sounds, songs, and compilations. I edited them to include very specific tone frequencies unique to what I wanted to use the audio track for.

My “sleep music” has the sound of a stream bubbling by, a campfire, light drumming in the distance and some ethereal tonal music mixed in. To this, I added specific hertz frequencies to stimulate healing, promote deep and restful sleep and alleviate anxiety.

My “study music” has ambient music backed by hertz frequencies for focusing on a task, passive and active learning and anxiety relief.

So far, results have been AMAZING! Not only for me, but my entire family has also noticed changes! We ALL sleep much better, feel better when we wake up and feel more refreshed. We use the “study music” when my son is doing his homeschool lessons and the difference is like night and day! Not only has it helped him stay focused and “in learning mode” during lessons, but more open and calm throughout the entire day as well!

I highly recommend neural training to anyone and everyone! Even if you aren’t having specific issues, there are passive tones that just help you to feel more relaxed, calm and more productive. And, trust me, it works! It sounds weird and strange, but then again… I’m kinda weird and strange so it makes perfect sense that I’d try it out. Even so, I would only recommend the technique to anyone else if it actually worked! So, go give it a try! What are you waiting for? Your brain will thank you 🙂

Completely Reworked Site!

It’s been a long time, but I’m finally done… I think!

I have been totally reworking this web site to more accurately reflect my intent in a professional manner. I finally got myself collected and focused! I set myself up with a print-on-demand print company that I now utilize to apply my designs to various products and send directly to my customers. I really like this company so far, they even offer brand-name, high-quality products to adorn with my designs!

Some of the updates to the site include:

  • Completely new design & layout
  • Easier navigation
  • Merchandise added!
  • Merchandise separated into different sections for easier searching
  • Added three different online payment methods, fully secured with SSL: debit card, credit card & PayPal
  • Streamlined the checkout process
  • Added FAQ sections
  • Added a full-featured help desk and support ticket system to the site!
  • Added support chat that connects directly to ME, so the only times I’m not able to respond are when I’m sleeping or at the doctor’s office!
  • Added support for push-notifications to help you stay up to date on all the new stuff!
  • Added not one but THREE newsletters that you can subscribe to: General Updates, Merchandise Updates, and Essential Oils!
  • Streamlined back end to reduce your time spent loading pages and images
  • Streamlined the order process so you get your merch faster!

Granted, I have a lot of things demanding my time lately: homeschooling my son, staying on top of all of the housework and meal prep with EDS (it’s a lot harder than you might think!) and trying to be a “present” wife and mother. SO, the updates have taken about a month of work in my free time. Free time… what an interesting concept. What exactly IS that, again? But anyway, I digress… it’s taken about a month of work, ZERO free time, and a lot of hand cramps and backaches from hovering over my computer and laptop for hours on end every day but it’s done and it was SO WORTH IT!!!

I’ve so missed doing my digital artwork and it feels so good to be back at it! All this work has been to give me a creative outlet for my digital artwork that I could also use to help support my extra bills from my doctors and to pay for medical equipment. Sure, we have great insurance through my husband’s work but it only pays so much and doesn’t pay a penny for medical equipment unless it is provided from a medical facility (like a hospital) after a procedure. So if I had back surgery and the surgical team gave me a back brace for recovery, it would be covered. When I need a back brace because I have a degenerative illness and can’t walk without being braced, I’m S-O-L. So, here is my delightfully fun and creative way to work on that issue 🙂

I hope you really enjoy the new site. Don’t forget to subscribe to the newsletters and push notifications and check out all the new designs in the Merch section! I’d love to hear your feedback, so post your comments below! Suggest changes to the site if you want, suggest new design ideas, anything! And don’t forget to share with your friends 🙂

Clothing Shop Now Open!

Grand Opening Coupon
Grand Opening Coupon
Enter GRANDOPENING discount code during checkout for 10% off your entire order!

Let me start by announcing the grand opening of my clothing line! You can find it at as well as on this site at

Now here’s the story of how it came into being…

I have mentioned on this blog and in some vlog episodes that I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. This syndrome has kinda taken over my world in the last few years. It’s progressive and degenerative to the connective tissues in my body, so I have joints that are literally falling apart. Walking is tough. I don’t run anymore. Ever.

I’ve been a stay-at-home-mom since I had my son 10 years ago.

My husband has a good job with the government, good insurance, the whole nine yards. But, even so, the remaining annual deductible and co-pays have been hurting our budget lately. Couple that with the fact that I now need “durable medical equipment” (walkers, wheelchairs, etc) and insurance don’t even touch helping in those costs, and we’re in debt up to our eyeballs from medical bills. I tried getting disability since I honestly can’t hold down a regular job anymore due to my illness. I discovered that I am 100% ineligible for disability because I haven’t gained at least 5 social security work credits in the last 10 years. Never mind the fact that I have been taking care of my kid full time during those 10 years. AND he actually needed full-time care due to HIS medical needs. But even so, “rules are rules, I’m sorry,” is all I heard.

So, one social security work credit is equal to having paid taxes on $1300 of income in a year. I can earn up to 4 per year. So, I need to make taxable income of at least $5200 per year for two years. Either that or I can apply and get denied, then challenge that denial enough times that I get an actual court hearing in front of a judge to determine if I should or shouldn’t get help with my medical stuff. “As a general rule,” I was advised by a social security attorney, “that process will take 5 to 8 years.” But if I could get taxable income, I could qualify without the whole appeals process within 2 years. Yes, I do think that is all by design. I was also told I could try to qualify for SSI, but my husband makes too much for me to qualify. There are waivers available per county on basis of need. but my county has an annual allotment of 300 waivers and a waiting list of 6,000 people.

I’m severely restricted by life and illness, but I am one hell of a creative person. Surely there is something I can do to make taxable income for two years…

I had used Cafepress for years and years. When I signed up with them and started creating designs, they gave me 30% commissions on all sales of my designs. Not great, but not bad either. It wasn’t a serious business for me. Instead, it was mostly an outlet for some creativity, and I enjoyed making designs that I could later order for myself or my friends.

In recent years, they have gone from 30% to somewhere closer to 10%. What does that mean for part-time hobby clothing designers like myself? My commission payouts went from $30 every month or so to $30 once or twice a year. My sales were up, they were literally selling thousands of dollars of merchandise with my designs, but I was getting diddly.

So, finally, I decided I was fed up with that bullcrap. I need the income and I can really do better than 10% commission.

I’ve been a web developer for longer than I had ever designed clothing. I like to think I’m at least decent at it. I have a web site with a very reliable CRM (content management software – I use wordpress for my site). I have a presence on both facebook and instagram. I have the entire Adobe creative suite at my disposal. Surely I could do this…. right?

So I started. I came up with some brand new designs since I can’t re-use the ones I had previously used on CafePress. (Interesting note: CafePress owns your designs once you upload them to the cafepress system and you can’t use them again on your own for anything else legally). Considering I’m a full-time stay-at-home-mom, full-time homeschooling instructor AND full-time housewife, I didn’t have a lot of time to devote to this project on a day-to-day basis. Yes. Most folks don’t think it is too hard to be a stay at home parent but lemme tell ya… it gets exceptionally hard when you have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and can hardly walk most of the time! Tasks that used to take 10 minutes can now take all day if I can even do them at all! So, needless to say, not a heck of a lot of time for other things. Like life, creativity, ya know… crazy.

I got started on the technical side of things. I had to design a shop and I knew I wanted a social media presence to make my marketing much easier but I couldn’t devote any money yet. Nothing. I looked at Shopify, which would be awesome but it has a monthly fee. IF I could make enough to guarantee enough money to cover taxes and Shopify fees then that would be fine but there’s no promise of having enough sales to start. Once I got started and off the ground, I could totally do Shopify but until then, I have to find something else. I set up a shop section on the site using WooCommerce (an e-commerce add-on for WordPress) and found a print-on-demand company that I liked. No commissions, just a printing company. So I can make a design, upload it to my printing company who supplies me with the product information and photos with my design added for my shop, list the item on the shop on this site and then update to add it in the facebook shop catalog. It’s a lot of steps but I have the technical know-how to do it all myself and thus I don’t need to pay someone else to do it for me.

So now I can make my own designs, list them and when a sale does happen, I don’t get a measly 10% commission. I handle the sale myself. The order is automatically sent to my printer, along with my wholesale cost payment and shipping fee. The design is printed on the desired product and shipped directly to the customer by the printing company, which saves on turnaround time. Anything else beyond the wholesale cost, shipping cost, and sales tax is taxable income to count towards my eventual ability to qualify for social security disability to help me with my medical needs. It took a long time to set it all up. A lot longer than it would have taken me 20 years ago. About a month longer. But it’s done and live! I’m trying to add at least one new design per week and I’m open to creating custom designs for people who want them, just drop me a line using the chat at the bottom of every page on this site! Here’s a taste of some of the things I have designed so far…

About Depression…

I wrote a rather long response to someone on Facebook today. She was asking about how other people handle hard times, chronic illness and depression, and how to help her Mom with the same problems she is having with feeling depressed. I thought it might be something good to share here, as well…

I have and continue to fight the depression. I just **refuse** to allow it in.

I do have anxiety that kicks my butt sometimes whether I like it or not. LOL. I have too much to keep going for to let depression in. Sure, I hear it knocking on the door sometimes. I just don’t answer. When the thoughts start, I stop it. I do something… ANYTHING… to keep my mind away from that.

Once it starts, it is harder to get out of that hole so I work hard to not fall in it to begin with. What I don’t do is bottle up the emotions and refuse to acknowledge them. That gets you into big trouble further down the road. I know when life is hard, frustrating, sad, angering, and I allow myself to feel it but there’s a fine line between feeling it and working through it and getting stuck in that hopelessness of depression.

There’s ALWAYS hope and I choose to focus on that. If I can’t find it within myself. I look at my kid and my dogs. Seriously. I get a lot of hope and joy from them. I talk to friends. I listen to soothing music or get lost in a crazy movie (nothing sad, usually exciting action movies!).

Yes. It is ridiculously hard.

The tendency to depression is a chemical one in the brain, not just emotional. That is why I focus on physical things that bring joy, or on something highly stimulating like an action movie that triggers the release of other chemicals in the body to override the depression chemicals and I attempt to continue to seek that alternative-chemical release for a while to keep it going until it is easier. Kinda like using an antidepressant but not taking a pill for it.

There’s always SOMETHING that can bring hope but you have to choose to see it and to focus on it instead of other things as much as possible. I had to learn to always find the silver lining, to ALWAYS look at the positive and to force myself to smile through the pain.

Last year, I suffered a loss that was just… ugh. It was horrible. It was so hard to climb out of that hole from it but I did find a way, and had to also lead my son out of his own hole too. The only way I made it was by finding the good left in life, to find the beauty around me and things that made me smile. Even a little. And then build on that.

Never give up. Never surrender. Even to your own depression. Fight, fight, fight.

You are strong and you can do this! And maybe take your Mom to see Aquaman or something! LOL! Seriously.. those good hormones and chemicals from the action movie will help, even if for a little while, and give you both a chance to start the process of climbing out of your own depression holes.

Jason Momoa in tights helps too 😉 LOL! Hugs to you, sweetie! You are NOT alone and you CAN do this! No go conquer the world 🙂

I Have A Chronic Illness…

A lot of you guys already know that I have had fibromyalgia diagnosed when I was about 19-21 years old (somewhere around there, memory isn’t the greatest these days). So that is roughly 22 years of random, insane symptoms of an illness that no one understands, knows how or why anyone has it, how to get better, or really what it is at all other than something that causes a lot of pain and brain fog. So, I had plenty of time to get used to it. And I did good with it for a long time.

Then… wow, it hit me hard. It WAS NOT fibro. This was different. I had been feeling these “strange, different issues” for most of my life, but now it went haywire. Everything was going nuts and I felt like I was slowly falling to pieces. And it hurt more than anything Fibromyalgia ever threw at me. ALL THE TIME. No breaks. Suddenly, I could barely walk. My hips partially dislocate themselves as I take steps, and clunk around as I move. So do my shoulders, wrists, thumbs, knees and ankles. One ankle is completely falling apart. I must brace it just to be able to put weight on it without my ankle and arch collapsing to nothing. It’s beyond a sprain, it’s way beyond a rolling ankle, but it’s not broken. It’s the Superior Peroneal Ligament that is just not holding together anymore. It’s stretched out like an old rubber band that has lost it’s elasticity. And that is the ligament that holds your ankle bones in place and your foot’s tendons in place. That leads to inability to walk and severe tendonitis in my right foot because those tendons aren’t being held in the right place any longer and are thus flopping all around inside the ankle, catching and rubbing on who knows what inside there, getting all angry and inflamed and damaged. So much so that I can no longer wear shoes at all on my right foot unless it’s a loose house slipper. It’s winter right now, by the way, and VERY COLD, so that means I can’t leave the house until the weather warms up. Yay. Housebound. Just how I wanted to spend my favorite season…

I love winter. Mostly because I am highly intolerant to heat. Anything over 70 degrees and I start getting heat exhaustion. The hotter it is, the faster it comes on until I pass out.My husband is intolerant to cold. Go figure… opposites DO attract! 🙂

And, even with the colder weather, I’ve started getting faint when I am on my feet. Oh great, another weird thing happening. So yeah, I had to go to the doctor about all of this. Many times. I had to get vial upon vial upon vial of blood taken… it would have been easier if they had just taken a full pint or two, then separated them into vials after the needle in my skin part was over. But, I digress… I had a lot of blood work done, I had X-Rays taken, I had an MRI on my brain. I learned A LOT. And I’m still in the midst of diagnosing exactly what is happening. There are steps to something this complex.

To start off, I do still have Fibromyalgia tender points. So the guess is that I do have it. But I also have other stuff going on. I have been given a preliminary diagnosis of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Type 3. This is the hypermobility type of the illness, but there are actually 13 types. The other types are diagnosed through genetic testing, so I am now waiting on genome sequencing to determine if I actually have one of the other 12 types. There has been no gene yet identified as being responsible for Type 3, though some are under intense scrutiny and research. So, if none of the other types are present in my genome, the Type 3 diagnosis will stand.

Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome is an inherited genetic disorder that changes the way my body produces collagen. Collagen is basically the glue that holds your cells where they are supposed to be in your body and provides the elasticity of your skin, muscles, tendons and ligaments, arteries and veins, etc. It is what keeps us together in one piece and with all of our pieces in the right place, working as they should. With faulty collagen, that doesn’t happen as well. Joints dislocate randomly, skin becomes very elastic and translucent or very thin and delicate! Blood vessels no longer behave the way they should to protect your body from the changes of posture and stance, sometimes they even spontaneously rupture. The different types of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) are there to show how different genes control types of collagen present in different parts of the body and those with different types will have different symptoms than others. Someone with perodental EDS will have massive issues in their mouth and with their teeth, whereas someone with vascular EDS will have more problems with their cardiovascular system. Even so, all EDS sufferers usually share some common symptoms (but not always!) including abnormal skin (velvety, stretchy, translucent and/or paper thin), joint hypermobility, chronic mobility problems, spine problems, cranio-cervical instability, the list goes on and on. Some lucky few of us (can you taste the sarcasm there?) have gene variants present for more than one type at once. So, yes, someone CAN have multiple types and suffer multiple system symptoms and problems at the same time. It’s all in the genes, so you can have a variant in your COL51A, COL31A and others at the same time. You CAN have multiple genetic illnesses at the same time, and variations of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome are a cluster of similar, yet somewhat separate genetic illnesses that all deal with variations of the genes responsible for the production of collagen in the body.

I also have a meningioma. This is a tumor growth of the lining that covers the brain and spinal cord. It’s a small little growth that sits at the midline between the two hemispheres, right above my left eye socket but towards the center. I can kinda feel it sometimes, and that is FREAKY. I worry myself to death that it is growing or malignant, though I know that most of them are benign and slow growing. Even so, I am waiting for a followup for a second opinion with the Virginia Brain and Spine Institute and they should order a followup MRI as well, to see if it is growing. This is a pic of my MRI that I had in October 2018. I’ll know more when I get followup imaging done.

I also had an X-Ray of my spine, from head to tail… it’s pretty screwed for a lady who doesn’t have osteoporosis and is under 80 years old. I have spurs everywhere, skeletal intrusion in my cervical spine causing cord and nerve compression and two left-leaning scoliosis places, one in the middle spine, one in lumbar. But from what I have been learning, that’s nothing uncommon in people with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. The discs in the spine rely on collagen to keep them healthy and spongy to cushion your vertebrae. When your body doesn’t make collagen right, the discs lose their helpfulness and your spine ends up like an aged spine way younger than it should. It’s called Spinal Degeneration, Disc Degenerative Disease, Spondylosis and a few other names that I can’t recall right now. Many of us have trouble getting this issue in particular diagnosed earlier in life, or before our genetic diagnosis, because we are “simply too young to have age-related spinal degeneration”. I can’t tell you how many times I was told that in my life, only to have ONE doctor finally listen and decide that it wouldn’t hurt anything to order spine imaging. After all, he must have thought that at least it would pacify me so I would stop complaining about it. Lo and behold, there are significant spinal problems even down to having arthritis in my spine. But, still, I considered the discovery a win. How? Because now there’s proof that I wasn’t being a crazed hypochondriac about my back pain and that triggered my doctors to be more inclined to actually listen to my other complaints. So yeah, my back is junk and it’s a win. Now at least I can be treated for it instead of leaving it to get worse and worse.

I don’t know if my memory problems, nerve problems and brain fog are caused by the EDS, the meningioma or the nerve and cord compression in my neck, but I am figuring that I will find out soon. I hope I find out while I still have enough mental capacity to do something about it!

So now I’m only 44 years old, soon to be 45. I have a 9-year-old kid. I should be a typical, healthy and happy on-the-go type (I used to be, after all!) And instead, I am using a cane to walk in my house and any time I go out… when I can manage to wear shoes and leave the house at all. I’m looking at the very real possibility that I will be in a wheelchair sometime in the future. Heck, I would probably benefit from one right now just so I can enjoy life when I go out instead of having every step I take put me in excruciating pain. Now, it’s getting to be all about quality of life. I know this is never going to go away and it is never going to get better. I am now looking at things that I CAN do something about, like staying on top of the meningioma and making sure it doesn’t kill me, instead of worrying and freaking out about things that won’t go away EVER. Like my collagen. I can strengthen muscles to try to take the load off of my tendons a little bit but it only helps, not cures.

It’s a good thing I’m a fighter.

Now the task is to handle the genetic testing and to get my son tested to see if he inherited it. He has a lot of the same signs and symptoms that I had when I was young that I always thought were normal until I learned they aren’t. Go figure! I’ll keep my blog updated as often as I can with this ongoing issue.

Another issue is going to be testing for POTS. Post orthostatic tachycardia syndrome. I have almost all of the symptoms, but haven’t been diagnosed yet. It is a common condition that exists alongside EDS, and since I have all of the symptoms, that is a test that I will be going through sooner or later. This is so complex, each individual test has to be taken one at a time, each in their own time, and as I can afford all of the doctor and specialist and lab co-payments.

Please remember when you see someone parking in a handicap spot who has a tag or placard, but doesn’t LOOK disabled, or someone in a wheelchair who actually CAN walk, but has chosen to swallow their pride and not walk, remember that not all illnesses are visible, not all pain is printed on the outside for all to see, and the choices to utilize these services for disabled people is not easy to make for those of us with invisible illnesses. We get a LOT of grief from random people who have no business putting their noses in ours, through nothing more than “you don’t LOOK sick”. It’s a very hard call for someone with an invisible illness to admit that they need those aids, mostly because we get such a hard time from abled people about it. So when we do make that decision, when you see someone who has made that tough call in their life, applaud their strength of will and character, offer to hold the door or whatever you would do, like you would for anyone else who is disabled. Those tags and placards don’t come in cereal boxes or get bought online, they are hard to get and if someone has one, they have suffered through their right to have it and that right should be respected. Whatever you do, be kind. And remember that your well-intended comments may not always be taken with grace. Yoga, exercise, and diet aren’t going to fix what is wrong with us and saying so feels like an insult to some folks. I know that the last thing you want to do is insult someone or hurt their feelings, so ask before you offer your advice. That person struggling in their wheelchair may have just left a workout session with their physical therapist…

If you are in good health, and your family is in good health, rejoice and celebrate that good fortune! Appreciate every smile, every single simple little thing that I can’t. Like walking, running and playing with your kids, standing up without aid and without fainting, going to work every day like a normal person, shopping for groceries without pain, exhaustion and the danger of passing out while you stand in checkout lines. ENJOY LIFE and ENJOY HEALTH. They are precious.

Thor Has Left Us…

Our beloved English Mastiff, Thor, left this world and crossed the Rainbow Bridge in the afternoon of September 30, 2018. He had developed behavior issues that we had chalked up to him being so old. 10 1/2 years is pretty much ancient for an English Mastiff! The vet told us that he was as a healthy as a horse, but it turned out that he had a brain tumor that wasn’t noticed until it triggered a stroke on September 29. Our sweet, gentle furry baby boy lost all cognition and was in intense pain, and he would never get any better. Pain medication helped with that part of it but nothing could heal the damage to his brain, so we decided it was time to let him go be at peace. That was the single hardest thing I’ve ever had to do and even now, almost 3 months later, I am still crying as I write about it. I miss my big puppy so much every single day!!

I don’t like to consider myself prone to depression, but I must admit that I’ve definitely been in a “funk” ever since that day. It’s so hard to move past that loss. It’s not really depression, it’s a real rut that I’m climbing out of, slowly.

I’m wanting to work on a memorial video for him, but it’s proving challenging! We had years worth of photos and videos stored on an external hard drive, which took a nosedive. I was able to recover the data from the drive but it’s all scattered with no organization whatsoever and not much time to work on cleaning up the crap from the stuff to save. BUT, it must be done before I can get his puppy pics and photos from up until about a year ago. Videos too. With my current health, mobility, fatigue, and pain… it’s hard to muster the energy to do much of anything after I get the house, my son, Pogo and John taken care of. John had to have surgery on his elbow just 5 days after we lost Thor, and it still causes him a lot of pain and mobility problems. As for me, that’s enough material for an entirely different post! LOL! But, for now, just know that Thor’s memorial is coming. It’s just taking longer than expected. And we miss him dearly.

Pogo Is Settling In!

Our new puppy, Pogo, is settling right in! Pogo is a puggle, which is a Beagle/Pug cross. He seems to idolize his big brother, Thor. Thor is our 10 year old English Mastiff, who puts up with his puppy antics fairly well and even breaks down and plays with him occasionally!!

Pogo came home at 8 weeks old on April 3, 2028. He will be 14 weeks old tomorrow and is weighing in at a whopping 11 pounds (compared to his 175 pound big brother)! He is cute, adorable, stubborn, mischievous and MUST be the center of attention at all times! He loves to dig! He digs anywhere he can, even if he is just digging on someone’s leg….ouch! LOL

He loves to snuggle and has developed a fondness for one of our Brown fleece blankets as his preferred spot to snuggle… And occasionally we catch him chewing on it. LOL!

He loves to play and even will play catch, bringing a toy back for us to throw it for him. But not every time. But that’s okay, he enjoys fetching AND playing keep away!! He’s learning to keep his teeth off of skin and other things that he shouldn’t bite on. He’s also great with his crate training! He goes in at night with a couple of bones and stays mostly quiet all night long. He even doesn’t mind going in his crate while we eat dinner, which gives us some peace from his energetic puppiness while we eat our evening meal.

99% is going great!

That remaining 1%? He pees. A lot. Sometimes, he wanders around the house while peeing. If you don’t give him attention when he wants it, he pees. If you leave him alone in a room without him being in his crate, he pees. He randomly went pee on my son’s foot today while trying to get him to play. A friend came to visit later. Pogo got into a running fit of excitement. I had to mop the living room to clean the pee that he spread out as he ran.

Did I mention he pees a lot?

But everything else about him is totally awesome. We love him, despite the pee.

When Thor was a puppy, he didn’t pee THIS much. But he did tend to pee all the way to the door when he was about to go outside until he was almost a year old. Seriously. At the time, it wasn’t funny at all…. But we still laugh about it now! LOL.
